Tail Waggin’ Tuesday: August 1, 2023

Are you in search of the perfect fur-ever friend? A new addition to the family, perhaps? OBX Today in partnership with the Outer Banks SPCA is proud to present “Tail Waggin’ Tuesdays.”

Each Tuesday, browse our provided selection of videos and images and follow along as we showcase a variety of pets that are currently awaiting adoption at our local animal shelter.

This week’s featured pets are Diana, Peppa, Carmen & Cocoa, Princess, and Burty.

Diana
Diana was surrendered into the SPCA’s care last week due to no fault of her own. Her previous family’s new landlord told them they were not allowed to have any pets. Diana is a purebred Belgian Malinois and is about 5 years old. She lived with kids from the ages of 8 to 11 years old. She loves to play and chase all toys, loves the water, and is house trained. Shelter staff would love for her to go into a home who has experience with her breed.

Peppa
Peppa was brought into the SPCA’s care from a neglect situation. They are so glad to have her here now so they can work with her and help her get positive interaction with people again. She does have to be the only dog in the home, but she has enough love to go around! She is completely deaf, but looks at you for reassurance when out and walking to make sure she is doing what she is supposed to. She loves stuffed animals and likes to play fetch!

Carmen & Cocoa
Carmen is the black one and Cocoa is the brown, denotes shelter staff. They are about three months old and were brought in with their mom who the SPCA featured last week (Biggie). The rest of their litter has been adopted and we are hopeful their time will be soon! They love to play and have such big personalities!

Princess

Princess is about five-years-old and loves to snuggle! She previously lived with other cats and loved to cuddle with them as much as she loves to be in your lap! This sweet senior would make the best companion for someone!

Burty

Burty is about three-years-old and is the sweetest. He came in as a stray and was a little nervous in this environment but opened up so well. He makes funny noises when he is getting attention and will head bump you to give you all of the love!

To adopt Diana, Peppa, Carmen & Cocoa, Princess, Burty, or any of the other shelter animals, visit the Outer Banks SPCA Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., or give them a call at 252-475-5620.

This month’s sponsor of Tail Waggin’ Tuesday is Hatteras Island Pet Resort.
