Have you ever felt blinded by a passing car? This phenomenon, known as “glare”, is an important impact of how we use Artificial Light at Night or ALAN.

Your input is needed for a local research project! In partnership with UNC-Chapel Hill and the Coastal Studies Institute, undergraduate students are seeking responses to a research survey meant to better understand public knowledge and preferences on ALAN.

If you are interested in being a participant, click here to complete the survey.

Filling out the survey is voluntary and confidential. No previous knowledge on ALAN is needed to fill it out. The survey will close on Sunday, November 12.

If you have any questions about the research or study, feel free to contact professor Dr. Linda D’Anna at 252-475-5457 or ldanna@email.unc.edu. You may contact the Institutional Review Board at 919-966-3113 or IRB_Subjects@unc.edu.
