Stella Woolard Jernigan, age 96, of Elizabeth City, NC died on Monday, October 4, 2021 at her home.
Born in Pamlico County, NC on July 27, 1925 to the late John Woolard and Mary Dixon Woolard, she was the widow of William Herbert Jernigan. Stella was a member of Evangelical Methodist Church.
She is survived by daughters, Phyllis Shirley of AR, Peggy Harris of NC, and Faye Jeffcoat of SC; sons, Lucky Jernigan of NC, Billy Jernigan of NC, Jim Jernigan of DE, Tommy Jernigan of DE, and Don Jernigan of AR; sisters, Alice Johnson of VA and Anne Knox of NC; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Adams.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 8, 2021 at Twiford Memorial Chapel. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in New Hollywood Cemetery.
