Stanford Littleton “Poochie” Sawyer, 88, of Manteo, NC died Sunday, January 8, 2023, at his home.
A native of Manns Harbor, he was born September 8, 1934, to the late Millicent Midgett Sawyer and Forrest Monroe Sawyer.
Poochie retired from Dominion Power (VEPCO). He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and anything to do with the water.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Mann Sawyer.
Poochie is survived by three sons, Barry Sawyer (Bonny), Scott Sawyer, and Stan Sawyer (Maggie); eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, John Sawyer of Darien, GA and Patricia Todd of Richmond Hill, GA; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Mt. Carmel Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Mann and Rev. Jerald Craddock officiating. A graveside committal will follow in the church cemetery.
