The northern side of the boat ramp at Sound Park in Point Harbor is closed until further notice. Boaters may still access the southern side of the ramp, which will remain open for public use.

Currituck County staff identified structural concerns with the ramp’s northern section which have been caused by erosion from under the concrete structure. This section will remain closed for an undetermined length of time until repairs can be made. Signage will be placed at the boat ramp to alert the public and direct boaters to use the southern section.

Public boat ramps are also available at several other sites in Currituck County, including Carova Beach, Knotts Island, Poyner’s Road, Shingle Landing, Coinjock, and Whalehead. Anyone with questions may contact Currituck County Parks and Recreation at 252-232-3007.
