Sixth Dare County resident dies of COVID-19

In its Monday update on COVID-19 cases, Dare County Health and Human Services reported a sixth resident death due to the virus.

Health officials did not offer any details about the person who died, but will likely do so in Tuesday’s in-depth updates on COVID-19 in the county.

The death was listed on the county’s daily graphic as health officials reported six new coronavirus cases Monday, a huge drop over the past several days, when new cases were numbering in the dozens.

The latest cases bring the total number of COVID-19 cases to 1,802 since testing began in March. Of those, 170 are currently active among county residents with 10 people hospitalized.
