Wedding Weekend & Expo Frequently Asked Questions

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I purchase tickets to the Wedding Weekend and Expo?

Tickets for the Expo can be purchased online here. Tickets can also be purchased at the door on March 7th, but we do suggest buying online to save time at check-in. All you must do is show the QR code on the E-mail, or bring a printed version. All tickets grant you entry into both the Wedding Expo at First Flight High School on March 7th, and to our self-guided Wedding Tour on March 8th

What is the difference between a VIP and a General Admission ticket?

VIP Bride and VIP Groom tickets are essential for entering to win our VIP giveaway! VIP ticket holders are automatically entered to win a $1,000 voucher to be used with the vendor of their choice and a canvas tote filled with swag and goodies from our Platinum & Gold Sponsors. VIP tickets are $40.

General Admission tickets are perfect for those who join you for the Wedding Weekend, or for those who may not need the extra VIP perks. General Admission tickets are $20.

How will the VIP Giveaway Winner be announced?

Upon entry to the Expo on Saturday, we encourage all VIP Ticket Holders to visit the giveaway booth to learn more and to pick up your VIP Gift! We will announce the winner of the $1,000 Voucher to use with any of our Wedding Weekend Vendors on Sunday, March 8th at 4 p.m. on our Instagram page (@obxwa).

How to I redeem my ticket(s)?

If you purchase your tickets online, they will be automatically sent to the E-mail used with purchase. Simply show us the QR code sent in the email, or you can download and print a paper version that we will scan upon entry. For faster entry, you can redeem your tickets during Pre-Registration on Friday, March 6th, as well as pick up your VIP Tote if you are a VIP Ticket Holder.

What is “pre-registration” on Friday, March 6th?

Pre-registration is not required for ticket holders. If you choose to pre-register, you will be given a wristband which will allow you to skip the line and walk directly into the Expo upon opening on Saturday at 10 a.m.

VIP ticket holders will also be able to redeem their VIP Tote and Lanyard during pre-registration. We will also distribute a copy of the Wedding Weekend Guide complete with a map, booth placements and a list of vendors and tour stops.

Pre-registration will be held at the Outer Banks Wedding Association office from Noon until 7 p.m. Our office is located at:

6345 N. Croatan Highway

Suite 102

Kitty Hawk, NC 27949

How can I prepare before attending the Expo?

To avoid being overwhelmed on Saturday morning, do your research on our wonderful vendors! Browse our complete list of Expo Vendors, and visit our Blog and social media accounts to get some inspiration from their work. You never know who you’ll click with or what ideas might emerge! That’s the beauty of this event.

Come prepared with pre-made labels to save time when signing up for giveaways at vendors’ booths! Include: name, hometown, phone number, email address, and your wedding date/venue if available.

What should I expect at the Wedding Expo?

There will be over 100 vendors that are eager and excited to meet you! Come hungry as many of our catering, restaurant, and cake vendors will be serving up fresh, scrumptious samples! A lot of vendors offer booking incentives if you book them during the weekend (this is where those pre-made labels come in handy).

What is the Wedding Tour?

The Wedding Tour is a self-guided open house-like tour. Various venues, restaurants, hotels and businesses throughout the Outer Banks will host Wedding Weekend attendees on Sunday, March 8th from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. All attendees are encouraged to go on the Wedding Tour! Note: transportation is NOT provided.

This is the perfect opportunity to visit venues (many are set up like a wedding!), and to meet vendors in a more intimate setting. Wedding Weekend attendees will be given a list by town of all the businesses participating in the Wedding Tour.

Is it possible to visit all the venues and businesses participating on the Wedding Tour?

While we believe anything is possible, it’s very unlikely that you could visit every business. There are Tour stops from Manteo to Corolla and many spots in between. However, we do encourage you to attend as many stops as possible to meet with vendors and enjoy exploring the OBX!
