Five tips to get the most out of wedding weekend

The Outer Banks Wedding Weekend and Expo is returning for its 22nd year this Spring season! The two-day wedding weekend will begin on March 7, 2020 and is a must for any couple planning a wedding on the Outer Banks. Presented by the Outer Banks Wedding Association, this event features the area’s best and most reliable wedding vendors. For first-timers, a wedding show can be a LOT. Especially when it is a two-day event filled with the best wedding vendors on the Outer Banks. Here are some pro tips on how to make the most of your experience!

Create a Wedding Only Email.
Even in our own personal email accounts, messages get lost or sent to a spam folder. By creating an email account solely for vendor communications and to enter giveaways, you won’t have to worry about continuing marketing materials after your big day (Example: smithweddingobx@gmail.com). You could even create a personal signature with your: name, phone number, wedding date and location. There are tons of platforms available that are easy to use and free. Gmail, Yahoo and Outlook to name a few.
Gather up your Friends.

It is so helpful (and fun) to have your friends, family and fiancé tag along to offer their input, pick up on the things you may miss, and for overall support.

The Power of a Pre-Made Label.
Many vendors at the Expo and Tour Stops will offer prizes and incentives that you cannot miss! But having to stop and fill out a contact form every 10-feet can get exhausting. By bringing pre-made address labels with your contact and wedding info, you can save time and get to see more of the show. It also helps with vendors when they are trying to decipher the handwriting on multiple entries.

Document what you love.
Start by knowing beforehand who you are dying to meet by looking at the participating vendors on the Wedding Weekend website. But even then, you never know who you might fall in love with at the Expo and Tour. Take notes in our guide, and be sure to photography anything that gives you inspiration because with so much going on at once, it can be easy to forget. Also, tons of participants will book vendors during the weekend. Keep track of what you have booked, paid for, and have agreed to.

Have a great time!
We throw this event to bring engaged couples to the Outer Banks so that they can witness the beauty of the NC Coast and imagine where they can start their lives together. We encourage you to speak with as many vendors as possible so that you can figure out who you would work best with and whose style matches what you envision.
