Sharon (Sauer) Roth passed away on February 21, 2022 after a brief illness.
Before making Elizabeth City her home, she lived in West Haven, Connecticut for most of her life. There, she worked as a Security Officer at West Haven High School and was loved by countless students and teachers over her career.
She will be extraordinarily missed by her husband, Glenn, whom she loved and cared for during their 52 years together. She was loved dearly by her only daughter, Kelly and her partner, Stéphane. She was a loving sister to five siblings and their families: Judy (Sauer) Skinner and her husband Edward; Alan Sauer; Eugene Sauer and his wife Regina; John Sauer; Kathleen (Sauer) Hershman and her husband Ethan; and her eight nieces and nephews.
She was a skilled knitter, crocheter, and quilter and made wonderful friends in the Elizabeth City area through these hobbies. She also participated in many activities at the Elizabeth City Senior Center, including a trip to Alaska and Ireland. Her loving nature, her incredible sense of humor, and big, hearty laugh will be missed by all who knew her.
