Sara Sampson new executive director of Dare Children and Youth Partnership

Sara Sampson has been named the new Executive Director of the Children and Youth Partnership for Dare County, replacing Nancy Griffin who retired at the end of 2020 after serving as CYP’s Executive Director since 2015.

Sara brings with her a wealth of experience working on behalf of children, youth, parents and families in Dare County.

She has spent the last 15 years working in different capacities with CYP and has developed a great awareness of the unique strengths and needs of the Dare County community.

Most recently, Sara served as the Interim Executive Director since May of 2020. Prior to her last role, she was the Assistant Director of Family Support and Program Evaluations at CYP.

More from CYP Executive Board Co-Chair Michelle Lewis:

“We are excited for Sara to step into this new role, and are confident that her passion for the children and youth of Dare County, along with her love for the Outer Banks, will continue to lead CYP into a bright future; CYP is rising to the challenge of meeting the needs of an expanding population while fostering a community that supports all children and families in Dare County. Having worked with CYP’s former directors who coached and mentored her, Sara is prepared to lead the organization. We are looking forward to continuing our work together with our community partners to ensure that our children, youth, families and community thrive.”
