Sally Kay Wilson Rinaldi, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and Navy veteran, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2023. Sally was born on March 19, 1955 in Washington, DC and lived 68 years of love and laughter.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Joe B. Wilson and Rebecca Louise Armstrong Wilson, as well as her sisters, Rebecca Ruskin and Beverly Rifkin. Sally leaves behind an abundance of loved ones who will miss her dearly.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Rinaldi, Jr. and their six children, William Rinaldi, Thomas Rinaldi III, Stacey Rinaldi (Jeffreys), Joseph Rinaldi, Michael Rinaldi, and Robert Rinaldi; her beloved grandson Charlie Mack Jeffreys, who she endearingly called “Pookie”; her eldest sister Dana Over; multiple nieces, nephews, in-laws, adopted grandchildren and pets; and a lifetime of friends and acquaintances whom she considered family.
Sally’s love was uncontainable. She was well known for taking in strays—both animals and people—sending care packages and silly gifts and finding the best deals at the local thrift store. She genuinely cared and thought about her loved ones constantly. Her faith was strong and she prayed for others regularly.
Sally had a laugh that could light up a room, dance moves that would pull any wallflower to their feet, and a dynamite hat collection. She was a tremendous joy to be around and never took herself too seriously. Sally was as selfless as they come and her compassion and capacity for forgiving others was immeasurable.
We will miss Sally every day, and grieve her deeply, but we will always remember her unwavering love and loyalty, her contagious laugh, and the wonderful memories she created with us.
A memorial service will take place at 3:00pm on Saturday, September 30th, 2023, at Waterfront Park on Woodhouse Road in Grandy, NC, Waterfront Shores Northern Community.
