Roger Edward Shannon, 53, of Manteo, NC died Wednesday, December 14, 2022. Born December 25, 1968, he was the son of Eleanor D. Mitchell of Manteo, NC and the late Roger B. Shannon.
Growing up in Swan Quarter, Roger graduated from Mattamuskeet Early College High School. He worked for Shannon Painting Company and was a member of Swan Quarter Baptist Church.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons, Roger Ethan Shannon and Ryan Edward Shannon; sister, Margaret E. Taylor (Robert) of Pine Tops, NC; brothers, Charles B. Shannon of Manteo, NC and Harold A. Smith (Susan) of Raleigh, NC; nieces and nephews, Joy and Jason Taylor and Timothy (Savannah) and Catherine Smith; and many extended family members.
No services are planned at this time. Inurnment will take place in Manteo Cemetery.
