Robert E. Ficik “Bob” passed away September 5, 2023. Bob was born July 7, 1945 in Bayonne NJ. Born to immigrants John Ficik and Mary (Gnip) Ficik of Czechoslovakia who came over to the USA in 1930 with his brother John, through Ellis Island. They settled in Bayonne where Bob was born and raised until they later moved to Ridgewood, NJ where he graduated high school. He entered the Army in 1963 and was stationed in Germany for some time.
Bob lived in Fairlawn, NJ before he began working for Fairleigh Dickenson University in Teaneck NJ. He married Rosalie Fiorillo from Paterson, NJ on March 27, 1971 and moved to Hawthorne, NJ shortly after. Within a few years they had two daughters who he loved and created many wonderful memories with.
Bob retired from FDU and later in 1995 moved to Kill Devil Hills to escape the cold and snowy winters. His later years were spent enjoying fishing, gardening, being involved with the Volunteer Fire Department for Colington Harbour and a member of the Eagles Club.
Bob is survived by his daughters, Amy Boddicker and Korin Ficik of Kill Devil Hills; grandchildren, Noah and Abby Boddicker; sister, Mary Cauwells of Fairlawn NJ; and niece and nephews, Kathleen and Glenn Cauwells, Mark Rogow, Carl and Alan Ficik, Jeremy and Michael Salvador. He is preceded in death by his wife, Rosalie Ficik; parents, John and Mary Ficik; brothers, John and Al Ficik; his sister, Helen Rogow; and nephew, Scott Rogow.
