Dare County Parks and Recreation has announced that registration for youth basketball and wrestling will be coming to a close soon. Registration for youth wrestling will end on November 14, 2022, and registration for youth basketball ends on November 23, 2022. Details for each program and how to register can be found below:
Winter Youth Wrestling
Wrestlers will learn basic moves and safety and then will wrestle within the group. More information will be available at practice.
Instructor: Steve Smalley
Ages: Grades 2-5
Cost: $40/participant
Practice Dates: Tuesdays and one rotating day, November 22, 2022 to January 30, 2023, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Location: First Flight Middle School

Youth Basketball
The Dare County Parks and Recreation Department’s Youth Basketball League is a developmental league for boys and girls ages 5 to 18. Emphasis is placed on skill-building in both sport fundamentals and sport values.
Boys & Girls Ages 5-18: Teams for players ages 7-15 will be formed using a skill assessment and draft process.
Cost: $35/participant
Practices are tentatively scheduled to begin in December after skills days, and games will begin after the holidays. Participants will be notified of practice schedules by their coaches.
