Randy Culp, 83, owner of Wharf Restaurant in Nags Head

Glenn Randall “Randy” Culp, 83, of Elizabeth City, NC, died Monday, August 3, 2020, at his home.

Born in LaCrosse, WA on November 15, 1936 to the late Glenn Yancey and Neonta Verle Bryan Culp, he was the husband of Marilyn Sutton Culp. Randy served his country honorably in the U.S. Army.

He was the owner/operator of the popular buffet Wharf Restaurant that stood along the Beach Road near Nags Head Pier until his retirement in 1999.

Randy loved the Lord and was a member of Grandy Community Church where he taught Sunday school and served in many capacities. He also enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.

In addition to his wife, Randy is survived by three daughters, Bonnie C. Morgan (Hayes) of Newton, WV, Kim C. McLemore (Matt), of Elizabeth City, NC, and Christy C. Bernstein (Tim) of Charlottesville, VA; a brother, Perry Culp (Patty) of Spokane, WA; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Dennis Culp.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 10, 2020, at Grandy Community Church, officiated by the Rev. David Daniels and the Rev. John Ogden.

Following the service, the family will greet friends at the church. Burial will be in Laurel Memorial Gardens.
