A Rally for Our Freedoms will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2022, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Dowdy Park in Nags Head.

This critically important event will focus on taking action to defend our freedom to make our own choices about our bodies and our futures; our children’s freedom to learn; our freedom to love who we want to love; our freedom to be who we want to be; and our freedom to cast our vote and have it count. With the general election just around the corner on Tuesday, November 8, now more than ever is the time to speak out, turn out, and vote.

Featured speakers will include: Barbara Gaskins, Candidate for United States House of Representatives; Rachelle Salo, Senior Regional Organizer for North Carolina and South Carolina Indivisible Project; La’Meishia Whittington, Deputy Director at Advance Carolina and NC Black Alliance; Jessica Fearns, Candidate for Dare County Board of Education; and Tom Fenninger, LGBTQIA+ representative, as well as other local community leaders, candidates, and elected officials.

There will be information on the upcoming General Election on Tuesday, November 8, early voting, and ways to get involved to help impact our community, as well as from the sponsoring organizations and our candidates.

Dowdy Park is conveniently located in the heart of Nags Head at 3005 South Croatan Highway with plenty of free parking. Signs are encouraged. Pets are welcome. Please bring lawn chairs or blankets for your comfort.

This Rally for Our Freedoms is hosted by the Dare County Democratic Party, Democratic Women of Dare, Dare County Progressive Caucus, Indivisible OBX, and Stronger NC OBX.
