Rachel Viola Twaddle

East Lake – 49 year old mother of three Rachel V. Twaddle passed away of natural causes in Nags Head, NC unexpectedly, May 4, 2020. She was born in Ketchikan, Alaska. Rachel was preceded in death several years ago by her father, John Twaddle.

Rachel worked hard in the local vacation rental industry for several years. Music and her family were her life passions.

Rachel is survived by numerous relatives including her three children, Dakotah Menapace and Cheyanne White, both of East Lake, NC and Tyler of Washington, NC; her mother, Ethel White Twaddle of Texas; her sister, Kathy Dean of Kill Devil Hills, NC; and her niece, Aleah Gravitt of Florida.

Rachel “Momma Spaid” Twaddle was one of the most caring, loving, and hard working people you could ever come across. Her heart was pure and her smile was infectious. If anything had you down and out, one of her famous hugs could make all the pain go away instantly. She was the person that you could call anytime and anyplace. She’d be there at the drop of a hat with no questions, no judgement, just love and support.

Never asked for much, always gave a lot. Trying to find the words to describe such a magnificent woman is hard. If you had the chance to know her throughout her life, you know what she brought to the table. She always took every obstacle in life head on, at full speed. When faced with a problem, she’d smile and say “I got this”. And no matter what it was, you’d believe her.

As I sit here and write this, I have so many heartwarming memories flowing through my mind. You couldn’t ask for a better mother, friend, sister, aunt, or daughter. Her impact on the world and the people living in it was nothing short of amazing. As we take the time to mourn the loss of this beautiful woman, try to think about all of the positivity and light she brought to your life. All the great memories. The tingle she’d send through your spine with just a simple hug. Her laugh, her smile, and her compassion. She loved every single one of you.

The world may have lost an amazing woman, but Heaven gained an even better angel. Fly high, Momma. We all love you and miss you more than we could ever describe with simple words.

The family has honored Rachel’s directives for cremation. They have planned a celebration of her life to be held Sunday August 30, 2020 on Coquina Beach in south Nags Head, NC at 4 pm. Limited parking is available at the Coquina beach access.
