Rachel Gard Twiddy, 78, of Manns Harbor, NC died Monday, November 7, 2022, at The Outer Banks Hospital.
A native of Manns Harbor, she was the daughter of the late Margaret Gibbs Gard and Alton E. Gard, Sr.
Rachel was a member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Women.
She is survived by her husband, Irdell Twiddy; five daughters, Dolores King (Wardell) of Manns Harbor, NC, Cynthia Twiddy of Tampa, FL, Mimi Twiddy of Zolfo Springs, FL, Amelia Vazquez (Luis) of Manns Harbor, NC, and Falana Twiddy of Columbia, NC; two sons, Buddy Twiddy of Hertford, NC and Adrian Twiddy (Amber) of Willis, TX; thirteen grandchildren, Kelly (Randy), Michael, Ciara (James), Casey (Clara), Cameron, Miguel, Darren, Shelby, Matthew (Bethany), Marcos (Emily), Ayden, Aaron, and Marisela; thirteen great-grandchildren, Darius, Briana, Dylan, Alexandra, Arrianna, Abigail, Olivia, Aiden, Mauricio, Mylah, Madeline, Bailey, and Jeremiah; and two great-great-grandchildren, Jaiden and Josiah. Also, surviving are two sisters, Myra Twiddy of Manns Harbor, NC and Arlene Basnight (Louie) of Manns Harbor; and one brother, Ferrell Gard (Irma) of Henderson, NC.
In addition to her parents, Rachel was preceded in death by a daughter, Renee Twiddy; grandson, Hector; sister, Amy Kelvy; brothers, Elroy Gard and Herman Gard; sister-in-law, Lydia Gard; and brother-in-law, Andrew Twiddy.
The family will hold a private service at a later date.
