UPDATED: Pamlico River ferry route to temporarily suspend service Thursday for ramp maintenance

UPDATE, August 15, 2022, at 11:45 a.m.: Due to inclement weather in the forecast for Tuesday, the ramp work previously scheduled for Tuesday has been rescheduled for Thursday, weather permitting.

The N.C. Department of Transportation’s Bayview-Aurora ferry route will be suspending service between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Aug. 18 to perform preventative repairs and maintenance on the ramp at the Aurora terminal, weather permitting.

The route will serve commuters in the early morning before the maintenance begins with the scheduled 5:45 a.m. and 7:15 a.m. departures from Bayview and the 6:30 a.m. departure from Aurora.

After the work is complete, service will resume with the 5 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. departures from Aurora and the 5:40 p.m. departure from Bayview.
