International recording artist Mojo Collins and award-winning bluegrass band Nu-Blu will be performing in two Outer Banks Veterans Week events, which will be featured in Dare County Arts Council’s November Courthouse Sessions.
On Tuesday, November 10 Mojo Collins & Triple Vision will take the stage in the backyard at Jack Brown’s Beer & Burger Joint in Kill Devil Hills at 6:00pm for the Outer Banks Veterans Week Concert.
Mojo Collins is a fourth generation, award-winning North Carolinian singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who has been performing for six decades. He has over 30 releases, has received airplay in 12 foreign countries and is a recipient of the NC Arts Council Fellowship for Songwriting and the NC Order of the Long Leaf Pine. Mojo plays a combination of original low down blues, rock, rhythm ‘n blues, and folk. Mojo is also a veteran who served in the United States Air Force.
“As a proud Air Force veteran and Dare County business owner, it is a privilege and honor to perform for the DCAC Veterans Week program,” said Mojo Collins. “It brings me joy to perform my songs to celebrate vets in our community, in rehabilitation and active duty settings. Personally, I know this program’s value and will be giving all tips to help continue its success at DCAC.”
The free concert at Jack Browns will also be streamed live on Dare County Arts Council’s Facebook page as a part of the November Courthouse Sessions.
On Tuesday, November 17 North Carolina quartet Nu-Blu will takeover Dare County Arts Council’s Facebook page at 8pm for a virtual concert showcasing their upbeat Americana, heartwarming ballads and Appalachian sound.
“We’re so excited to be a part of the Veteran’s Week celebration and are so thankful to all of those that have served and protected our freedom,” said Nu-Blu’s frontman Daniel Routh. “Helping the Dare County Arts Council support veterans’ programs is an amazing opportunity and we are so glad they asked us to be a part of it!”
During their concert, Nu-Blu will be donating a portion of their tip jar proceeds to support Dare County Arts Council’s Veterans Arts Program.
Since 2013, Dare County Arts Council has hosted a series of educational and cultural events to celebrate veterans, active-duty military and their families through the arts.
The 8th annual Outer Banks Veterans Week will be held November 7-17, 2020. Dare County Arts Council curates the Veterans Week Directory, which highlights ceremonies and events for veterans and active-duty military that will be held on the Outer Banks.
