The Outer Banks of North Carolina have made TheTravel.com’s list of 11 Top Beaches In The U.S. To Add To Your Bucket List.

The list was curated by TheTravel.com, a popular website that offers an array of amenities for globetrotters from bucket list ideas, to travel hacks, and what amenities stand out among the rest at some of the world’s most ideal vacation destinations.

The Outer Banks was chosen for placement on the list through a variety of assets ranging from the activities it has to offer, to the array of lodging options, and of course, its overabundance of rich history.

“With rolling sand dunes, roaming wild horses, and historic lighthouses, the coastal cocktail of North Carolina’s Outer Banks beaches is enticingly delectable,” says the listicle, which ranks the Outer Banks as #9.

In addition to its scenic offerings, TheTravel also praises a variety of activities the local beaches have to offer including water sports, surfing, and deep sea fishing.

Activities go on to include the beach’s rich aviation history noting The Wright Brothers and their gravity-defying invention in the early 1900s and local tour flights offered to the public.

TheTravel also highlights beautifully beckoning beach homes and inns, accommodations that make it tempting for prospective visitors to want to stay.

“Enchanting towns like Coralla and Duck open up even more family-friendly points of interest, including arrays of shops, eateries of many kinds, and highly spoken-of food joints serving some of the freshest seafood in the region,” adds TheTravel. Local favorite North Carolina Aquariums also received a shout-out.
