Outer Banks public safety agencies hosting blood drives Tuesday, Wednesday in Kitty Hawk

Dare County’s public safety agencies—in partnership with the Red Cross and the towns of Duck, Southern Shores, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head and Manteo—will host the annual Public Safety Blood Drive on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, and Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at Holy Redeemer Church in Kitty Hawk.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 8 and from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on June 9 at Holy Redeemer Church, which is located at 301 W. Kitty Hawk Road in Kitty Hawk.

Appointments are required and can be made by calling 800-RED-CROS.

Dare County EMS reminds donors that the entire process of donating blood takes less than one hour and that donated blood is critical for saving lives.

Dare County employees who donate blood are eligible to earn a wellness point, which will count for the 2021-2022 wellness year.

Roll up your sleeves and join the efforts of Dare County EMS, the Dare County Sheriff’s Office, as well as the police and fire departments within Dare County by making an appointment to donate at the annual Public Safety Blood Drive. Snacks and refreshments will be provided on location.
