Orientations scheduled for deer hunt at Nags Head Woods Preserve

Designed to manage the deer population and to ensure the herd’s health, the Nature Conservancy allows bow hunting for white-tailed deer in the Nags Head Woods Preserve each year.

The regular hunting season runs Sept. 11 through January 1, 2022.

Interested hunters must attend a scheduled orientation session, complete an application form and pay a $50 fee (cash and check only). Orientation sessions are held at Nags Head Woods Preserve, 701 West Ocean Acres Drive, Kill Devil Hills.

· Tuesday, August 24, 5:30 p.m.
· Thursday, August 26, 5:30 p.m.
· Tuesday, August 31, 5:30 p.m.
· Thursday, September 2, 5:30 p.m.
