Serving as the island’s unofficial kick-off to the holiday season, the annual Ocracoke Holiday Boat Parade will be returning to the waters of Silver Lake Harbor on Friday, November 27, from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

This Ocracoke tradition was revived in 2016 with a total of six participating vessels, and the post-Thanksgiving boat parade has been steadily getting bigger and brighter in the years since.

Ocracoke watermen, kayakers, sailors, fisherfolk, and jet skiers are all are welcome to join in the fun, and to help light up the waters of Silver Lake Harbor.

This year, due to COVID, spectators and participants won’t be gathering at the Watermen’s Exhibit for treats and drinks, but any locale along Silver Lake Harbor should serve as a great spot to enjoy the show.

For more information on participating, including requests for lights or an inverter, please contact the parade organizer at 252-921-0283.

For more information on the event itself, visit the Ocracoke Holiday Boat Parade’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Ocracoke-Holiday-Boat-Parade-105306518061783.

Participants may enter at their own risk. Ocracoke Holiday Boat Parade is not responsible for any damage to vessels during the event.
