Ferry operations for Hatteras and Ocracoke Islands are experiencing some service interruptions on Tuesday, November 23, per a recent update from the N.C. Ferry System.

Due to high winds on Tuesday morning, Ocracoke to Cedar Island’s 7:30 a.m. trip and Ocracoke to Swan Quarter’s 10 a.m. trip are both canceled. The Hatteras-Ocracoke vehicular ferry is currently running every three hours or so, per an update from ferry personnel.

Winds are expected to die down this afternoon, and ferry operating schedules will change as the weather conditions improve. For operating schedules and updates, follow NCDOT on social media or call 252-996-6000.
