William Percy “Tadpole” Daniels

William Percy “Tadpole” Daniels was born on August 23, 1951 in Currituck, NC. On Monday, October 5, 2020, he passed away at the age of 69.

He was the son of the late Greathen and Earl Cooper, and Mary Webster and Percy Daniels (Wanda). He was raised and spent most of his life in Manteo, NC, where he attended school, before joining the US Army to serve his country at the age of 20.

Tadpole was an outgoing and joyful person and was loved by everyone. He never met a stranger and would always be willing to give you his last dime.

Tadpole loved and enjoyed spending as much time as he could with his family. He loved his children and grandchildren dearly, and his great-grandchildren were the apple of his eye.

He was preceded in death by his mothers, Greathen Cooper and Mary Webster; his father, Earl Cooper; his grandmother, Mary Tillett; his unnamed son; his grandson, Damar Daniels; his great-granddaughter, Ny’Ari Skyee; his brothers, Richard Tillett and Daniel Saunders; and special aunt, Ida Golden.

He is survived by his wife and love of his life, Debra White Daniels; his children Chuquita Turner (Michael), Kelleta Govan (Bobby), Rashad Daniels, Kamari Daniels and Renese Holley; his grandchildren: Shantel Herring, Adrian Golden, Marquita Govan, Kayla Holley, Tiera Daniels, Shawndre’ Daniels, Nicholas Holley, DaNeeka Govan, Asiah Turner, Shacarrilin Freeman and DeiJonna LeGrande; his great-grandchildren: Kara, Kaylei, Kamryn, Nehemiah, Jeremiah, Nakiya, K’mariya, Amier, Praize, Ny’Aiden, India, Simon, My’Karris, Ky’Arii, JaiYana and Goddaughter Tiauna.

He is also survived by his siblings: Debbie Lindsey, Priscilla Jones, Carla Walcott, Phondia Saunders, Clara-Jean Wilson (Melvin), Arnold Sykes (Doris), John Lindsey (Sandy), Lindsey Saunders, Aulander Liverman (Kim), his siblings from the Golden Family: Thomas (Marjorie), Henry (Vanessa), Charlie (Louise), Sharon, Faye and Carrie, brother and friend Jimmie Summerell (Dana), Special forever Mother-in-law Hazel Lindsey, special aunts Sarah, Maggie and Sandra, special uncle Joe and host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins extended family and friends.

A funeral will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 9, 2020 at on the grounds of Free Grace Church of Christ Disciples of Christ, 843 Sir Walter Raleigh Street, Manteo. A graveside committal with military honors will follow at Free Grace Church of Christ Disciples of Christ Cemetery, 1056 Burnside Road, Manteo. The family will receive friends and relatives for a viewing and visitation Thursday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 pm at Twiford Colony Chapel, Manteo.
