Robert W. “Bobby” Midgette, Sr.

Robert W. “Bobby” Midgette, Sr. was born at the Midgette family home in Buxton, NC on April 21, 1942; and he passed away to his eternal home on October 27, 2020.

He has gone ahead of his wife and partner of 52-years, Judy Callahan Midgette; daughter, Anna Marie Cargill of Weatherford, TX; son, Robert W. Midgette, Jr. (Jonna) of Rodanthe, NC; son, Byron Wilson of Buxton, NC; granddaughter, Magen Powers with great-granddaughter, Emma Lynn; grandson, Tanner Floyd Powers (Cidney) of Rome, GA; grandson, John Cheek (Corrie) with step-great-grandson, Elijah; grandson, Thomas Cheek (Lindsay) with great-grandson, Jones Conner all of Ft. Worth, TX; granddaughter, Kimberly Cheek with great-granddaughter, Julianna of Weatherford, TX; grandson, Elijah Midgette; granddaughter, Jorah Midgette of both of Rodanthe, NC; brother, Brad Midgette (Mary); best friend, Rex Bunting (Linda); and much loved nephews and nieces.

He joins his daughter, Sharon Powers, who predeceased him; as well as his granddaughter, Jazania Joy Midgette; daughter-in-law, Donna Wilson; brothers, Edward, Milton, and Herman; sisters, Mary, Zella, and Alvania; and his parents, Anna and Edward Midgette, Sr.

His passion in life was having a large family and a place for them all to gather. He was a master welder and mechanic in Norfolk, VA and continued using his skills after returning to Buxton in 1987 to renovate the house where he was born. He was known as being kind and generous to everyone.
