John R. Wilding, Jr. passed away peacefully on September 14, 2020 in Nags Head, NC. John was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana on February 20, 1944 to the late John and Helen Wilding, Sr. John retired in 1985 as a chief in the Navy.
John is survived by his wife, Carolyn Wilding of Kill Devil Hills; his stepchildren, Amy Sholes (Mark), Bruce Hoggard, and Jill Westberry (Scott) all of Chesapeake, VA; his sister, Anne Albright (Frank); and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
John moved to the Outer Banks from Norcross, GA in 2006 after retiring a second time from EMS Technologies. John made numerous friends during his time on the Outer Banks and was an active servant of his church, St. Andrews by the Sea Episcopal Church.
A celebration of his life will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s name can be made to Food for Thought at https://www.foodforthoughtobx.org/.
