John Marshall Wise, age 59, of Elizabeth City, NC died Friday, March 13, 2020 at Heritage Care of Elizabeth City.
A native of Spokane, WA, he was born June 14, 1960 to the late James Alfred Wise, Jr. and Barbara Lavergna Spruill Maillet and was the husband of Doris Fipps Wise. He served his country honorably in the U. S. Army and retired as a van driver for the Armed Forces Transportation.
In addition to Doris, his wife of thirty-nine years, he is survived by two daughters, Emily Barnes and Rachel Wise of Elizabeth City; a son, John Marshall Wise, Jr. of Independence, VA; six grandchildren, Alyssa Bradley, Avery Bradley and Crystal Bradley, Haley Eisenhower, Gracie Lee and Rebel Boseman; two sisters, Pam Wise O’dell (Cecil) of Duncan, AZ and Rhonda Wise Forbes (Nathan) of Elizabeth City; and three brothers, James Alfred Wise III of Fayetteville, Lonnie Wise (Stephanie) of Elizabeth City and Jason Maillet (Samantha) of Virginia Beach.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 143 US Hwy 158 East. Twiford Funeral Home, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC is assisting the Wise family. Online memorial condolences may be sent to the family at www.TwifordFH.com.
