Elizabeth “Tinker” Pearl Twiford Midgett, 88, of Stumpy Point, NC died Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at her home.
A native of Stumpy Point, Tinker was born August 26, 1932, to the late Ruby Berry Twiford and Murl Twiford.
After 40 plus years of service, she retired from Ace Hardware in Manteo. Tinker enjoyed spending time with her family, scrapbooking, gardening, and dancing. She met her companion of 44-years, Matthew, at the Shriner’s Heart-Fund Dance.
Elizabeth is survived by her companion, Matthew Long, Jr.; son, Thurston “Randy” Midgett, Jr. (Janet); grandchildren, Michael Midgett (Sandy), Dori Midgett, and Cristi Midgett; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Kortland, Richie, Kaitlyn, and MollyAnne; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thurston Midgett, Sr.; a son, Andrew Midgett; and three siblings, Earlene Jordan, Essie Boyd, and Grady Twiford.
A funeral will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at Shiloh United Methodist Church. Private burial will take place in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives prior to the service beginning at 11:00 am.
