Elbert Lewis Gibbs, Jr., age 58, of Moyock, NC died peacefully surrounded by his fianceé, family, and friends on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Currituck County, NC on February 20, 1962 to the late Elbert Lewis Gibbs and Betty Jean Miller Gibbs.
A self-employed handy man, he was a man of many talents and loved anything to do with building. An intelligent man, he had a passion for playing guitar and cards, loved animals, and enjoyed buggy rides in West Virginia with Teresa.
He is survived by his fianceé, Teresa Acree, his daughter, Dana Gibbs Taylor (Steven) of Greenville, NC; two sisters, Norma J. Gibbs Sanderlin of Supply, NC and Phyllis Gibbs Barnett of Franklin, VA; five grandchildren, Taylor Anderson, Jordan Anderson, Amber Anderson, McCoy Taylor and Everly-Kate Taylor; and a host of loving family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Twiford Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
