Dollie Trueblood
Dollie Mae Bateman Trueblood, age 75, of Main St. Ext., Elizabeth City, NC died Monday, August 31, 2020 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Pasquotank County, NC on March 21, 1945 to the late Claude Bateman and Alma Marie Berry Bateman, she was the widow of William Henry Trueblood. Dollie worked as a beautician in the area for many years and also kept the books for her husband’s diesel mechanic business. She truly loved dogs and was so very happy when she was dogsitting for others.
She is survived by a daughter, Lisa Trueblood Majka and husband, Edward, of Shiloh, NC; a son, Michael Trueblood and wife, Dawn, of Elizabeth City, NC; a brother, Russell Bateman and wife, Felay, of Las Vegas, NV; seven grandchildren, Tray Basnight, Heather Romaine, Tyler Romaine, Savannah Roberts, Anthony Besso, Justin Mapes, and Allen Mapes; and eleven great grandchildren with one on the way. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Lucielle Kovel, William Bateman and Claude Bateman, Jr. as well as her beloved dogs, Tasha and Little Bit.
