Carl Edward Clever, Jr., 53, of Wanchese, NC died Friday, September 11, 2020. Born in Germany on November 17, 1966, he was the son of Bonita Lee Perry Clever and the late Carl E. Clever, Sr.
A commercial fisherman, Carl was known as “Mr. Fix-It”. He was often described as dramatic and the life of the party but most importantly he was a loving father and husband.
Carl is survived by his wife, Melissa McDowell Clever; four daughters, Molly Staab (Elisabeth), Ashleigh Cahoon, Annie Clever, and Keyaira Clever; two sons, Tavis Cahoon and Calvin Clever; and two grandchildren, Eldon Cahoon and Zayden McDowell. Also, surviving are three siblings, Tuesday Clever, Tracy Whedbee (Junior), and Travis Clever-Nadeau (Trent); a stepsister, Gina Benza; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Troy Clever.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at Ramp 55 in Hatteras. Immediately following the service, the family will receive friends and relatives for a reception at the Hatteras Civic Center.
