Betty Lou Lee, age 84, of Bay View Drive, Kitty Hawk, NC passed away Saturday, September 26, 2020.
Born in Davidson County, NC to the late Charles Raymond and Jean Beamon Nance, she was a graduate of Sanford Central High School and earned her nursing degree through the Shelby School of Nursing.
Mrs. Lee is survived by her four children, Daniel Hamrick, Jr. of Lake Royale, NC, Harvey Glenn Lee, III of Sanford, NC, Deborah Burge of Edenton, NC, and Richard Lee of Grandy, NC; sisters, Clara Ransom of Albany, GA and Jane Murray of Lake Royale, NC; brothers, Thurman Nance of Sanford, NC and Bill Nance of Mt. Pleasant, NC. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by her former husbands, Daniel W. Hamrick and Harvey G. Lee, Jr.; as well as, a brother, Charles Nance.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at Twiford Memorial Chapel with the Rev. F. Joe Griffith officiating. Burial will follow in Old Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service. Twiford Funeral Home, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC is serving the Lee family.
