Betty Aleen Evans Denby, age 74, of Goldcrest Dr., Chesapeake, VA died Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Sentara Leigh Hospital, Norfolk, VA. Born in Portsmouth, VA on October 6, 1946 to the late Ernest Elijah Evans and Edith Hope White Evans, she was the wife of William P. Denby of the residence. Betty worked as a shipping clerk for General Electric before her retirement.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Carrie Lee Smith and son-in-law Troy of Ivor, VA; a brother, Buddy Evans; a grandson, Corey Smith; and three great-grandchildren, Emily Edwards, Jaxson Smith, and Ethan Smith.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Rosewood Memorial Park Cemetery, 631 N. Witchduck Rd., Virginia Beach, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 477 Viking Dr., Ste. 100, Virginia Beach, VA 23452.
