National Weather Service in Newport/Morehead City to host in-person, online Hurricane Community Forum Tuesday evening

The National Weather Service in Newport/Morehead City, North Carolina (NOAA) will be holding a community forum on hurricanes on Tuesday, June 14th, at 6:30 p.m.

The location of the class will be at the Holly Ridge Community Center, located at 404 Sound Road in Holly Ridge. The NOAA also has a virtual option to attend that may be accessed below. These forums are free and open to all.

Individuals will have the chance to hear a presentation from a meteorologist with the National Weather Service on hurricanes and their impacts on Eastern North Carolina. The NOAA will go over why you should never focus on just the category of the storm along with discussing all of the impacts any tropical cyclone can bring.

The NOAA will also cover the hurricane outlook for the season while emphasizing it only takes one storm to make an impact on your life! At the end, the Weather Service will transition to a community discussion and the public may ask any questions they have.
