*UPDATED (Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at noon): The Town of Manteo’s National Night Out that was scheduled for today, Tuesday, October 3, 2023 has been canceled. Town Manager Melissa Dickerson issued the following statement: “Today’s National Night Out event will not take place as originally planned as it is not an appropriate time for a celebratory event.”
National Night Out returns to the Town of Manteo on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. This free, exciting community-police awareness event will be located at Cartwright Park on Sir Walter Raleigh Street adjacent to the Keeper Richard Etheridge Statue and Pea Island Cookhouse Museum.
It will be an afternoon of food, family, and fun complete with games and activities for all ages provided by the Manteo Police Department, Town of Manteo, and other great local public-safety agencies and community groups. The event focuses on the vital importance of police-community partnerships and citizen involvement to help strengthen neighborhood spirit, promote awareness, safety, and neighborhood unity.
The Town of Manteo joins thousands of communities nationwide for the 40th Annual National Night Out. Together we can continue to make our communities safe and caring places to live.
