Nags Head Woods bow hunting orientation session begin August 19

Designed to manage the deer herd and to ensure the herd’s health, The Nature Conservancy allows bow hunting for white-tailed deer in the Nags Head Woods Preserve.

The regular hunting season runs September 12, 2020 through January 1, 2021. Interested hunters must attend an orientation session, complete an application form and pay a $50 fee (cash and check only).

Orientation sessions are held at Nags Head Woods Preserve, 701 West Ocean Acres Drive, Kill Devil Hills. COVID safety protocols, including mandatory face masks, will be implemented.

Due to office closure and staff limitations, hunters must attend one of the scheduled orientation sessions. Call (252) 441-2525 with questions.
