Museum of the Albemarle’s Holiday Open House set for December 3

Christmas lovers of all ages are invited to convene at the Museum of the Albemarle in Elizabeth City for their Annual Holiday Open House – “Back to 1970s Christmas” on Saturday, December 3, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

Visit their “Back to the 1970s Christmas” room dedicated to the decade that transformed and propelled us into the present. Throughout the 70s, one constant was families celebrating the holidays. Two themed rooms are set-up as conversation places to reminisce and discuss these changes still being felt.
Children can also meet with Santa Claus between 1:30 – 2:30 p.m.
Watch the Albemarle Express HO scale train as it travels around the Albemarle region, making stops at county landmarks in each of the 13 counties our museum serves. You will also receive a keepsake bell.

Come dressed in 70s attire, take photos in front of their 1970s disco ball-themed tree, make 70s-themed crafts and participate in games and other groovy happenings. The Museum Gift Shop will also be open for potential Christmas shoppers.
