Morris Leo Kight, Sr., age 91, of Shiloh, NC died on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Sentara Albmarle Medical Center.
Born in Elizabeth City, NC on December 13, 1930 to the late Henry B. Kight and Pearl Star Eure Kight, he was the widower of Carol Lee Burgess Kight. A member of Shiloh Baptist Church, he was an equipment operator with The City of Elizabeth City Electric Department until his retirement.
He is survived by a daughter, Gladys Marie Kight Lane (Doug); grandchildren, Tammy Lane Meads (Ricky), Morris Kight, III and Tara Kight Ritter (Jesse); and great-grandchildren, Austin Meads (Kimberly), Tanner Meads, Triston Kight, Hailee Tade, Bradley Ritter, and Cameron Ritter. He was preceded in death by his son, Morris Leo Kight, Jr.; a sister, Goldie Kight Riggs; his brothers, Elwood Kight, Sr., Clifton Kight, and Levy Kight.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 14, 2022 at Twiford Memorial Chapel with Pastor Johnathan Mason officiating. The service will be livestreamed at www.facebook.com/TwifordFuneralHome. The family will greet visitors immediately following the service in the funeral home lobby and at all other times at the home of Gladys and Doug Lane. Burial will be in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Needham Adult Care Home, 916 S. Sandy Hook Rd., Shiloh, NC 27974.
