Mona “Lisa” Burd, 67 of Grandy, NC passed from this life on January 20, 2022, with her husband and her two children by her side.
She was born January 20, 1955, in Washington, DC to Ismeal Lazo and Edith Lazo who preceded her in death along with her father-in-law, Herbert Burd, her brother, Venancio “Vick”. She was child number nine of eleven. Lisa enjoyed bowling and camping with her husband and always looked forward to their Yogi Bear vacations.
She is survived by her beloved husband of over forty years, Herbert Burd Sr.; her daughter, Sandy; her son, Herbert, Jr., and fiancé Heather; ten beautiful grandchildren; her sisters, brothers, mother, brother, sister-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Laurel Memorial Gardens in Grandy, NC. The family has requested if attending the service to please wear something yellow to represent Lisa’s love for Tweety Bird.
