Martha “Mickey” Bonner Baum, 74, of Wanchese, NC died Saturday, November 30, 2019, at her home.
A Dare County native, Mickey was born October 15, 1945, to the late Doris Jones Bonner and George Glenn Bonner, Jr.
A longtime faithful member of Bethany United Methodist Church, she served her church in a variety of ways including singing in the choir and assisting on the parsonage committee. The Lord blessed Mickey with a loving and giving heart and she loved others with the love of the Lord. She enjoyed crafting and crocheting.
Mickey is survived by her husband, Thomas “Tom Boy” Baum; a daughter, Amy Garretson; a son, Stephen Shane Baum (Kellie); three grandchildren, Megan Garretson, Jamie Hunter Williams, and Emma Garretson; and one great-granddaughter, Isabella Powell. Also, surviving is a brother, George Glenn “GG” Bonner III (Bonnie); and many additional relatives and extended family members.
A funeral will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 6, 2019, at Bethany United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Mann and Rev. Bill Holiday officiating. Private burial will take place in Cudworth Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Thursday evening from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Twiford Colony Chapel, Manteo.
