On April 29, 2024 at 08:53 pm., the Dare County Sheriff’s Office received a call to Dare Central Communications in reference to a traffic accident in the 100 block area of Bayview Drive in Stumpy Point.
The caller advised Communications that the driver of the vehicle was bleeding and had been stabbed with a knife. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene by Dare County E.M.S. After conducting an investigation, Tanner L. Thrasher of Stumpy Point, North Carolina was arrested and charged with Felony Murder.
Mr. Thrasher is currently being held at the Dare County Detention Center under a $800,000 secured bond.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol assisted in the incident.
