Luther Elwood Hooper, 77, of Wanchese, NC died Wednesday, July 21, 2021.
Affectionately known as “Hoss” or “Shorty”, he was a native of Salvo, born on February 4, 1944, to the late Sarah Swindell Hooper and Luther William Hooper.
An avid fisherman, Luther enjoyed playing his guitar. Most importantly, he loved his numerous friends and family.
Luther is survived by his son, Robert “Bobby” William Hooper and wife Amanda of Wanchese, NC; grandson, Caleb Hooper of Wanchese, NC; three sisters, Alpean Midgett of New Hope, NC, Rachael Ewell of Texas, and Clara Gallop of Columbia; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Deborah Swain; and a brother, Donald Hooper.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Twiford Colony Chapel, Manteo.
