Lester Frederick Gammeter, Jr., 71, of Elizabeth City, NC died Friday, January 14, 2022, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Born in Monroe, WI on January 15, 1950, he was the son of the late Rose Mary Pfister and Lester Frederick Gammeter.
Lester served his country honorably retiring from the United States Navy.
He loved reading and spent most of his time in the library.
Lester was the loving husband of Elizabeth Gibbs Gammeter. Also, surviving are three daughters, Julia Gammeter of NC, Shania Shelton of NC, and Brittany Bagley of NY; four sons, Henry Gammeter of FL, Randolph Vaassen of NC, Kevin Shelton, Jr. of NC, and Ronald Bagley of NC; seven grandchildren, Kendrick, Josiah, Elizabeth, Ivy, Laya, Dominique, and Koda; and two sisters, Linda and Heidi.
