The N.C. Department of Transportation Ferry System’s Currituck-Knotts Island route will be closed for one day on Wednesday, Sept. 1 as crews bring back the route’s newly repaired vessel.

On Wednesday, the crew from Currituck will take the M/V Frisco to the State Shipyard in Manns Harbor. They will then return to Currituck with the M/V James B. Hunt, which had been at the shipyard and out of service for maintenance.

The Currituck-Knotts Island route will resume regular scheduled service on Thursday, Sept. 2.
