Kitty Hawk police seek witnesses in stolen truck incident

A stolen truck caused significant damage to the drain field at the Marketplace in Southern Shores shopping center last week, and police would like to hear from anyone who might have information.

Kitty Hawk and Southern Shores police departments responded to an abandoned truck around 7 a.m. on July 23, and arrived to find significant damage to the drain field, Kitty Hawk police said.

Then around 9:30 a.m., Kitty Hawk received a report of a truck stolen from the Seascape Drive area matching the abandoned truck. The timeframe for the theft is between midnight and 7 a.m.

Did anyone pick up a person from this area? Does anyone have cameras that might have recorded this truck?
