Juneteenth celebration to be held at Historic Jarvisburg Colored School

The Currituck County Department of Travel and Tourism invites you to join them at Historic Jarvisburg Colored School on Saturday, June 18 from 12:30pm to 3:00pm for the annual Juneteenth celebration.

Dr. Harold Barnes, a civil rights and personal injury attorney and 1977 graduate of Elizabeth City State University, will be the featured guest speaker. Musical selections will also be performed by Felicia Reid. The celebration will also include refreshments and vendors.

The Historic Jarvisburg Colored School is part of the recently created African American Experience of Northeast North Carolina, a collaborative six-county project that celebrates the contributions of African Americans in this region through the years.
