Juanita Faye Burke, 82, of Manteo, NC died Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at her home.
Born in Jamestown, TN on April 8, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Elsie Jane Wright and Marvin A. Smith.
Juanita attended school at God’s Bible College in Cincinnati, Ohio and York Institute in Jamestown, TN.
She was a homemaker and often volunteered at Hotline.
Juanita is survived by two sons, Richie Burke and wife Sue and Pat Burke and wife Misty all of Manteo; seven grandchildren, Bennett, Gray, Davis, Coral, and Spencer Burke and Skylor and Rasheed Bryant; and one great-grandchild, Malachi. Also, surviving are her sisters, Rosie, Gail, and Sue; and her brothers, Ronnie, Kenny, and Danny.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Edward Burke; and two sisters, Velma and Meveline.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at Twiford Colony Chapel, Manteo with Rev. Jerald Craddock officiating. Burial will take place at 2:00 pm in Woodlawn Cemetery, Norfolk, VA.
