Joyce Elaine Rodman Beasley

Joyce Elaine Rodman Beasley, of Castroville, TX passed away on July 29, 2019, at the age of 86 years. She was born April 2, 1933, in Tulare, South Dakota to Vay E. and Gladys Seemann Rodman.

Joyce married Sgt. Henry Myron Beasley of the United States Air Force on June 2, 1951. They were blessed with thirty-two years of marriage and two children. Throughout Henry’s tenure in the armed services, Joyce and her family lived abroad throughout the world, settling in Castroville, Texas.

Joyce was a Gold Star Wife and member of the Eastern Star Chapter 19 in Redfield, South Dakota. Since moving to Texas in 1991, Joyce became a member of the Medina Valley United Methodist Church, the Castro Garden Club, and also volunteered at the Lytle Public Library. She had been a Red Cross Volunteer “Grey Lady” and belonged to a quilting club.

Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Biediger (Vincent) of Castroville; son, Michael Allen Beasley (Deborah) of San Antonio; grandchildren, Daniel (Dr. Erika Ooten) Biediger, Elizabeth Presto; Joseph (Amber) Biediger, Katherine Beasley, Emily (Adam) Palmer, William Hank Beasley; great-grandchildren, William Presto, Jenna Presto and Laura Biediger; brothers, David Rodman (Arlie) of Redfield, South Dakota and Vay Rodman (Arleen) of Windom, Minnesota.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry Beasley; sisters, Jeanne Rodman and Deborah Rodman and brother James “Jimmy” Rodman.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 24, 2019, at Hilltop Cemetery, Colington with Rev. Teresa Holloway officiating.

Memorials may be made in Joyce’s memory to the Medina Valley United Methodist Church for the church kitchen (PO Box 1607, Castroville, TX 78009), or to the American Heart Association (PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005).
